Did You Know?

Antibiotics treat infections but can harm the gut bacteria vital for a child’s development. Early disruptions to the microbiome are linked to allergies, asthma, obesity, and other conditions.

We’re studying how antibiotics affect child’s gut microbiome. We also test a personalized approach: collecting healthy gut bacteria before antibiotics and returning them afterward—to see if it helps the microbiome recover more fully and support long-term health.
